Jesse Barnett is the vocalist and co-founder of Orange County, California hardcore band Stick to Your Guns. One of the most outspoken voices in the American hardcore scene.
Outside of Stick to Your Guns, Barnett has consistently explored different creative outlets. In March 2014 he founded the post-rock/emo project Trade Wind alongside guitarist Tom Williams of Stray from the Path. His solo project, Wish You Were Here, goes furthest from his hardcore roots — rooted in the kind of music Barnett grew up with, written and recorded with producer Derek Hoffman in Montreal, the project is fueled by love, loss, and the process of healing. For Barnett, Wish You Were Here is part reinvention, part catharsis — a place to find solace and process feelings through creativity. The AMUZ show in September is a rare opportunity to see that intimate, acoustic side of one of hardcore's most vital frontmen.
