WESTKUST (SE – Run For Cover Records)

Swedish shoegaze sensation WESTKUST signed to Run For Cover earlier this year, immediately releasing an insanely loud LP called “LAST FOREVER”. WESTKUST offers a dreamy take on noise-pop with finesse. It’s impossible to feel down while listening to these nine songs: the deceptively simple pop formula is an undeniably epic soundtrack to your perfect day. Belgian 5-piece that layers reverb with noise and more reverb. Noisy dancable dream-pop at its loudest! Although NEWMOON only started out last year, they already toured Europe with names like Touché Amoré and Basement.

FREAKS UP FRONT (BE)

Four young people, playing in an indie rock band from Antwerp, with a name like Freaks Up Front, surely they must be dEUS fans? Not only does their name remind us of the opening track from the brilliant ‘The Ideal Crash’ album, so does their music. It brings us the best music the nineties provided, but given a sonic update. In ’The Farewell State’, this makes us think of bands like Real Estate & Cloud Nothings.
