AMERICAN NIGHTMARE (USA – Rise Records)
Aka Give Up The Ghost.
After seven years of disbandment, the band reunited under their original name and performed two reunion shows in Deathwish Inc. reissued the albums Background Music (2001) and We’re Down Til We’re Underground (2003) to coincide with the reunion dates. Since the original 2011 reunion shows, American Nightmare have played a small handful of shows almost every year.In November 2017 they announced a new album for release on 16 February 2018 through Rise Records. The first track from the self-titled album, “The World Is Blue”, was released 19 December 2017.
THE TIDAL SLEEP (DE – Holy Roar Records)
Over the last years The Tidal Sleep worked their way up to the top European (Post)Hardcore bands by being constantly on the road and playing tons of shows. The debut LP from 2012 was sold out within a couple of weeks and got excellent reviews, as well as the follow up 4 Song EP. After the split with their guitar player, the band reinvented themselves with two guitars, bending the sound boundaries even further.. They mix passionate screaming, almost spoken vocals, crushing walls of sound and post-rock guitar sounds without loosing their drive and attack. „Volume. Delay. Reverb.“ Always on, always scheming, always pushing further.
DAGGERS (BE – Throatruiner Records)
During their 10 years of existence, Belgium’s DAGGERS have worked hard on creating unique and singular records to forge a very personal sound. Their new full-length “It’s not Jazz, It’s Blues” is an entire different animal than on their crust-infused hardcore previous releases, delivering twelve epic tracks that will drag you down to the bottom of the earth and shred the living out of you with the haste and anger of a thousand rusty swords. Captured in an organic live recording setting, “It’s not Jazz, it’s Blues” takes a hypnotic, noisy approach to the band’s claustrophobic blend of punk and metal, more ruthless and vicious than ever.
