SORORITY NOISE (USA – Triple Crown Records)
“I don’t want to be in an emo band anymore,” proclaims SORORITY NOISE frontman Cameron Boucher. “But I have no problem with people calling us that, because in the strictest of senses, we are an emotionally driven band.” That, is Sorority Noise in a nutshell: part of a movement, but also discrete and determined to break free from the pack. Truth be told, the Connecticut-based quartet have always operated a little differently than most of their peers. One of the more gripping elements of Sorority Noise’s musical direction is the band’s willingness to speak of personal hardships, including the often-taboo topic of addiction. Their third installment You’re Not As _____ As You Think, is set for release on March 17th via Triple Crown Records. The album is an emotional bulldozer – an unfiltered, inward look at the last year of the band’s life that’s filled with intimate, visceral details yet remains universally relatable. But even amidst weighty subject matter, Sorority Noise want to give you a sense of resilience: “No matter what I feel, it’s going to be OK,” Boucher says. “Things are going to be tough, but it’s going to be fine in the end – and you have to keep going because you just have to. This is how it’s going to be. You’ve just got to do it.”

TEEN CREEPS (BE)
Teen Creeps is a three piece from Gent that play an energetic brand of indie rock. They love 90s alternative rock and punk, and their sound brings to mind that of bands like Dinosaur Jr., Superchunk and Cloud Nothings. Fuzzy and melancholic, yet poppy. The band recently recorded their first album, that should be out later this year.

BLEAK (BE)
Started out as a bedroom project from Jens Leysen, who eventually decided to form a steady line up with likeminded musicians to get the music out. Now they are a fresh 4-piece, mixing elements of shoegaze and grunge in, what the band themselves call, spacegrunge. Melancholic, catchy, fuzzy.
